Will I get a better deal by going to the listing agent to buy a house?
I have been asked by buyers if they will be getting a better deal if they use the listing agent instead of using a buyers agent. My response is not necessarily. That is a contract between the seller and the listing agent/ broker. If the listing agent/ broker does have an arrangement in place with a seller in the event no other agent is involved, who is to say that will just give the seller more money in their pocket? I am not sure you are actually going to get a better deal with going directly to the listing agent. Not every agent is willing to make a deal in this situation because they are in fact doing both sides of the transaction. I would highly suggest in making this decision of whether to hire a buyers agent or use a dual agent, that you get a copy of the "Disclosure Regarding Real Estate Realationships." and you decide for yourself what is in your best interest. |
